TEACHING INTERESTS
Athalia's teaching spans both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with a particular focus on postgraduate education within the Business School. As Course Leader for MSc Health Services Management, she has played a central role in shaping the programme's curriculum and nurturing future innovators and leaders across health and social care, entrepreneurship, and broader business and management disciplines.
Athalia has authored and leads several Level 7 modules, including Innovation in Health and Social Care, Sustainable Entrepreneurship in Action, and Leadership, Development and Change. These modules are designed to equip students with the critical skills to become effective innovators and agents of change, drawing on a range of authentic assessment methods including interactive oral assessments, simulated governance meetings, and poster campaign presentations that reflect real-world professional practice. Students are encouraged to critically evaluate their own leadership styles and innovation capabilities, fostering deeper self-awareness and a clearer understanding of the impact they can have in their professional environments.
Athalia is also a teaching team member on the Level 5 Creative Entrepreneurship module, where students work in teams to design and soft-launch new business ventures, culminating in a Business Launch Event and participation in the Young Enterprise national university competition. This hands-on approach to enterprise education bridges theory and practice, preparing students for the challenges of a complex and rapidly changing business landscape. She also supervises undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations across business and management, guiding students through the full research process.
