BIOGRAPHY
A Senior Lecturer in Physical Geography and GIS, Andrew specialises in applying geospatial analysis to understand and address real-world challenges and has worked extensively with industrial partners to help them apply these approaches effectively. Though his background is in physical geography, he has worked with organisations from food banks to tech start-ups and local government organisations. He teaches across a range of physical geography and natural hazard management modules, as well as leading teaching in geomatics and remote sensing.
In his wider role, Andrew has led on employability initiatives within the geography and environment subject area, acting as Careers & Employability Link Tutor, as well as leading on the internal Employability Working Group and external facing Industry Advisory Group. He has previously held the role of Programme Leader for Combined Honours Geography, and currently acts as Undergraduate Assessment Officer across all geography and environment programmes, arranging module assessment boards, dealing with breaches of academic conduct and acting as key contact for all assessment related issues within the subject area.
