BIOGRAPHY

Associate Professor Ben Broughton is Head of the Communication, Screen and Performance Division at the University of Chester. He has worked at the University since 1998, introducing Popular Music into the degree portfolio in 2005.

Ben is an accomplished session musician and sound engineer with 35 years experience in these fields. In 2004, with his brother Joe Broughton (BEM), Ben headlined the Hong Kong International Folk Festival.

Ben continues to sing, play bass, guitar and harmonica nationally and internationally, and is a sought after sound engineer for both live and recording sessions.
