Dr Christine Packer is a Senior Lecturer in Mathematics Education within the School of Education in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. She is the PGCE Secondary Mathematics subject lead and Course Leader for the PGCE Secondary Course. 

Christine has a Doctorate in Education having completed her thesis titled - Caught in the crisis: Early career mathematics teachers' perceptions of research and practice beyond ITE. She also has an MA in Educational Practice with a specialism in Mathematics Education.

Christine is involved in a number of collaborative projects with the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) including Strengthening Partnerships with ITT Providers focusing on developing mathematics teacher training in school.

Christine was formerly the treasurer of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMET) before it's merger into the Association for Mathematics in Education (AMiE) and is a member of the British Society for Research into Learning Mathematics (BSRLM).
