BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Claire Stocks is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE, and has been an academic developer in UK HE for 20 years. She has worked in a range of universities including research-intensives and private providers. Claire completed her PhD in American Literature at Keele University in 2005 and also holds a Level 5 ILM Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring. Claire is a reviewer for Advance HE's National Teachiing Fellowship scheme, and external examiner for the EdD programme at the Univerity of Teesside and the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice at the University of Liverpool. She is also a co-opted member of the HE Curriculum and Quality Committee at the Trafford College Group. 

 

At Chester, Claire leads the Academic Practice Team in the Centre for Academic Innovation and Development, is Programme Leader for the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching, and leads the CERTS professional recognition scheme. Claire also Chairs the national Supporting Professionals in(to) HE Newtwork, which she established in 2023.
