I am a registered nurse with 30 year’s experience in the NHS and private health care sectors. I have worked in various specialities including Cardiology, Respiratory and Palliative Nursing. I specialised in Adult and Adolescent Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Nursing, working in a regional CF unit on Merseyside until 2009. I have held various leadership and management roles but my passion is hands on clinical nursing. I qualified with a Masters in Advanced Nursing Practice form Liverpool University in 2003 and am a licensed Non Medical Prescriber (V300).
I moved to the Middle East in 2009 where I worked for an international airline, providing health care services for staff and their dependents. My role encompassed aviation legislative nursing, Emergency care, Walk in services, Occupational Health and General Practice Nursing.
Prior to commencing my current role at Chester University, I qualified as a specialist community public health nurse (SCPHN) in school health from LJMU and worked within school health services In Central Liverpool. This role generated my interest in Public Health and Safeguarding along with Neurodevelopmental Disorders.
