RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research is interdisciplinary, applied, and impact-focused, spanning marine ecology, conservation science, and sustainability, with a particular emphasis on coral reef systems and fisheries management. A central theme of my work is understanding the interactions between ecological processes, human activity, and environmental change, and translating this knowledge into practical solutions for conservation and resource management.
My research is closely integrated with teaching and student development. I embed authentic, field-based research into the curriculum through international expeditions (e.g. Maldives, Indonesia, Zanzibar, Sweden), enabling students to contribute to real-world data collection and analysis. I also adopt innovative pedagogical approaches, including the integration of AI into assessment and the development of inclusive resources to support diverse learners.
