BIOGRAPHY

Jon is a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine at the Countess of Chester Hospital and Clinical Lead for Assessment (CPSA and WPBA) at Chester Medical School. His Undergraduate Medical Training was at Keele before pursuing an Academic Foundation Programme post in North Staffordshire. Jon subsequently completed specialty training in Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine in the Mersey Region. He has Consultant experience as a Major Trauma Team Leader and Intensivist at both a Tertiary Centre and District General Hospital. He has worked for North West Ambulance Service as a Medical Advisor and undertaken additional roles including Clinical Lead for Organ Donation, Mortality Lead and Rota Lead (for Resident Doctors and Consultants). He is currently Audit Lead for Chester’s Intensive Care Unit.

 

Jon is passionate about sustainable working patterns, high quality educational opportunities in the workplace, experiential training and authentic assessment. He is the clinical lead for the Clinical and Professional Skills Assessment (CPSA) at Chester Medical School along with the Workplace Based Assessment Programme. He works closely with the rest of the assessment team, Warwick Medical School and other key partners to ensure the delivery of high quality assessment at key points throughout the MBChB programme.
