Julie Lawson is the Course Leader for the Student Nursing Associate FdSc Higher Apprenticeship at the University of Chester. Leading on both Chester and Warrington sites, with responsibility for the leadership, management and assessment of the course. 

Julie is a Fellow of Advance HE, a registered Public Health Practitioner, Practitioner Member of the Faculty of Public Health and a Registered Specialist Dental Nurse. Julie has over 25 years of clinical experience working across general practice, community services and secondary care within Maxillofacial and Othodontics. Supporting patients to improve their oral health has been a long-standing professional passion.

Julie has worked extensively in public health as an Oral Health Improvement Specialist, where she led on an Oral Health Improvement Service. She has developed a strong expertise in public health practice and has successfully implemented a range of effective community-based health initiatives. In 2017, Julie was awarded the National Oral Health Promotion Group Patron’s Prize in recognition of her partnership work in embedding good oral health practices within local communities. 

Julie is an assessor for the UK Public Health Practitioner Register, supporting the development and registration of future practitioners.
