BIOGRAPHY

Kathy is a clinician, strategic medical leader, and medical educator experienced in the delivery of teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Kathy is particularly passionate about innovation, quality improvement and champions the importance of evidence based healthcare in policy, commissioning, patient care, and education.

 

She has extensive experience of delivering both bed-side and desktop teaching across a range of learning needs, from medical students to qualified GPs. Organisationally, as Medical Lead at NHS SCW, she designed and led the professional development programme for a national NHS remote GP workforce.

 

Prior to joining Chester, Kathy has previously held teaching roles at St George's Hospital Medical School and Edge Hill University Medical School.  

 

Alongside teaching at Chester Medical School, Kathy maintains a portfolio GP career which includes, Medical Lead at NHS South Central and West Commissioning Support Unit, National Improvement Coach for the National Neighbourhood Health Implementation Programme (NNHIP), and Medical Examiner at Warrington and Halton Hospitals Foundation Trust,

 

Kathy is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners' (RCGP) Mersey Faculty Board and is an Action Learning Set Facilitator for the RCGP's Shaping Future Leaders programme. She is also a member of the National Advisory Panel for the Memory Milk Gift Intiative at Chester Milk Bank (Countess of Chester Hospitals NHS Trust) which was awarded Multidisciplinary Team of the Year and Educator of the Year at The Royal College of Midwives' Awards 2026.
