BIOGRAPHY
Dr Leon Davis is a Senior Lecturer in Management and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).
Leon’s academic career has spanned both further education and higher education. He began teaching in FE in 2010 before progressing to HE in 2013 as a Lecturer in Sport at the University of Northampton. He has held academic posts at Leeds Beckett University, the University of Lincoln, and Teesside University, teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and contributing to programme leadership and research supervision.
Before moving into academia, Leon gained extensive industry experience across multiple sectors. He worked within the sport and leisure industry focusing on health, community engagement, and service delivery, while also developing a parallel career in music events and festival management across the UK and Europe. These early professional roles provided him with a strong grounding in operational coordination, stakeholder collaboration, and the complexities of large-scale event environments - which continues to inform his teaching and research.
Leon's interdisciplinary background allows him to bring real-world industry insight into the classroom, bridging theory and practice to support the development of future professionals in management and related fields.
