RESEARCH INTERESTS
Leon’s research is situated in the intersection of sport and events management, consumer culture, and organisational behaviour. His core interests include:
- Fan cultures and identities in live‐sport and event contexts: how fans engage, behave, and contribute to organisational dynamics;
- The phenomenon of sportswashing and its implications for ethics, governance and stakeholder relationships;
- Gender equity within sport, event organisations and fandom, examining structural and cultural barriers;
- Qualitative methodologies and interpretive approaches to understand lived experiences, organisational processes and cultural meanings in sport and event settings.
Combining a critical lens with applied relevance, Leon’s research seeks to inform both scholarly debate and professional practice across the sport‐and‐events ecosystem. His commitment to inclusive pedagogies and ethical research design underpins his teaching, supervision and engagement with industry stakeholders.
