Having previously held successful academic positions in both the UK (Leeds, Lancaster and Liverpool Universities) and Italy (Politecnico di Milano) for over twenty years, Dr Marta Bell is a Senior Lecturer in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Chester Business School, where she is the Course Leader for the MSc programme in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

As a teacher, Marta focusses on inspiring by example and the interconnection between audio-visual and interactive media presentations and student learning. With outstanding feedback from three UK Universities, Marta is looking to develop the art of teaching way beyond just professional-standard slides and other media to ensure inspirational international student engagement media and strategic focus.

Industrial engagement and business partnerships are central to Marta's teaching, research and grant-fund bids. She has worked collaboratively with blue chip companies such as Scapa, large organisations such as David Luke, English Fine Cottons, the Paper Cup Company and many prominent SMEs in the UK and Italy. 

Her 3 and 4* journal articles have been published in high-ranking publications such as the International Journal of Operations and Production Management, Supply Chain Management: an International Journal, the International Journal of Production Economics and the International Journal of Physical distribution and Logistics Management. Marta has also been succesful in previous grant fund bids, research projects for the British Academy, as well as a number of EU funded projects.
