Niel is the Subject Lead for Law and Course Leader for undergraduate law courses. Niel is a graduate of the School of Law where he completed his LLB Law degree, and a socio-legal doctorate that focused on the relationship between law, culture and gender, and career progression in law firms. Niel has experience in a variety of roles in the legal and higher education sectors. He has worked in personal injury and medical negligence and has taught on a wide range of modules here and at other institutions. In addition to his interest in legal scholarship, Niel is a keen and active sportsman. He has played basketball to a professional level, and previously coached the University’s men’s basketball team.
