TEACHING INTERESTS

Professor Healey teachers human geography and is module leader for:

HU4200: Changing the World
HU5204: Society and Space
HU6207: Excluded Peoples

She also teaches on HU4203 People and Places, HU4204 Researching Environments, HU5200 Geographical Research: Methods and Geomatics and supervises students undertaking HU6200 Going Places: Dissertation. 

Ruth has supervised the following PhDs

- ‘Towards Social Justice for Student-Parents: Learning from lived experiences to address social injustice for undergraduate students with parental responsibility in the UK’ (Awarded 2025). Secondary supervisor  
- ‘The use of positive action within football coaching’. (Awarded 2021). Secondary supervisor
- ‘The experience students with Dyslexia, have of academic assessment, whilst studying for a qualifying law degree in small northern university’ (Awarded 2017). Secondary supervisor
