Dr Sunil Nair MBBS, FRCP, PhD is a Consultant Physician in Diabetes and Endocrinology and Clinical Service Lead for Diabetes and Endocrinology at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, a role he has held for the past 14 years. He is dual accredited in Diabetes and Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London). He combines senior clinical leadership with a strong academic and educational profile.

Dr Nair is the Year 3 Clinical Lead at Chester Medical School, where he leads undergraduate clinical placements, teaching, and assessment. He is also a Principal Investigator for several multinational clinical trials in diabetes and obesity, with extensive experience in investigator-led and industry-sponsored studies. His role involves overseeing Year 3 clinical education, supporting students during core placements, and contributing to assessment and curriculum delivery.
