BIOGRAPHY

Stephanie is a Senior Lecturer in Police Studies at the University of Chester, joining the University of Chester Institute of Policing in January 2019.

She was the Programme Development Lead for the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA), which commenced at the University of Chester in September 2019.

Since then, Stephanie has designed and planned the implementation of the Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP) for Cheshire Constabulary/University of Chester, as part of the College of Policing Police Education Qualifications Framework. 

She was the Programme Leader for the DHEP, which commenced in November 2022 and became the Programme Leader for the MSc in Policing, Law Enforcement and Security in May 2024. 

Prior to joining the University of Chester, Stephanie lectured at the University of Northampton/University of Hertfordshire.
Stephanie's practical experience in the policing field includes previously volunteering for Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Stop and Search Scrutiny Panels, as well as previously volunteering as a Police Cadet Leader for Hertford Police Cadets.

Furthermore, Stephanie has previously volunteered as an Independent Custody Visitor for Northamptonshire Police Authority (now PCC Office), checking on the conditions in which a detainee is held, their health and well-being and that they are receiving their legal rights and entitlements, with reference to PACE, PACE Codes of Practice and the requirements laid down by the Home Office.
