BIOGRAPHY

Sarah Griffiths has been the Managing Editor for the University of Chester Press, the University’s own in-house publishing operation, since 2010. Originally founded in 2001 as Chester Academic Press, it was launched as the University of Chester Press in 2011 and now has more than 80 publications. It disseminates research, professional practice and creative work generated from within the University through its range of academic books, and then prioritises projects with a particular relevance or connection with the institution or the wider region. Sarah also co-ordinates the Corporate Publications Digital Archive and the histories of the institution.

Sarah came to study in Chester as a mature student, having worked in academic journal publishing for two companies in the Oxford area. She gained a BA in History and Psychology, an MA in Landscape, Heritage and Society and a PhD on the charitable work of the Macclesfield silk manufacturers. During and after studying for her postgraduate degrees part-time, she worked in research and development and publishing environments in the local area before joining the University in her current role.
