BIOGRAPHY

I have taught mostly on the Pre-registration Nursing Programme at undergraduate level and a Masters degree (MEd) in Professional Education. Initially, in 2006, I led subjects on the Assistant Practitioner Programme and in 2009 I joined the Pre-Regsitation Nursing Programme which is a bachelor's (Hons) degree with links to an Integrated Master's in Nursing.

I was Programme Leader for two subjects: a BA (Hons) in Health and Social Care (2010-2013) and a Masters degree in Professional Education (2013-2018). For the latter, this involved teaching a range of NHS staff, including trainers as well as students from the private sector. I have undertaken over 200 plus hours of teacher observations for this and was also a Higher Education Academy Accreditor for AHEA and FHEA.

My interests include ageing, reablement, positive psychology, professional education and co-productive working. I am bi-lingual in French and Icelandic with practice experience in the former and I have studied in Boston, USA and Edinburgh, Scotland. My work as an occupational therapist spanned both health and social care. Initially in the field of stroke and musculoskeletal rehabilitation; rapid response and intermediate care. I have worked as an independent community rehabilitation specialist for the NHS but also in the provision of adaptations with Social Services in rural and urban areas.
