BIOGRAPHY

Zoe Thomas is a Senior Lecturer in Midwifery within the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Society at the University of Chester, UK. She supports students both in practice and in the academic setting as an Academic Assessor and Personal Academic Tutor, and contributes to faculty-wide teaching through Simulation Skills.

 

From September 2026, Zoe will take on the role of Module Leader for MW4302 and HS5006 (Level 4 and 5 modules), alongside her responsibilities as Cohort Leader for the Year 3 (09/23) student group.

 

Zoe transitioned into academia in February 2026, following five years of clinical midwifery practice. During her clinical career, she worked as a Team Leader and was a core member of the Midwifery-Led Unit within her previous NHS Trust. She brings valuable experience in ward leadership, service innovation, and clinical management to her academic role.

 

Zoe is a registered midwife with current registration to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). She also trained at the University of Chester as part of the September 2018 cohort.
