BIOGRAPHY
Isabel is a Lecturer of Health Services Management at the Chester Business School (CBS), University of Chester. She is a passionate and creative educator dedicated to developing knowledge for the next generation of professionals. Previous to this appointment, Isabel held different academic and research positions at The University of Liverpool, The University of Manchester, University of Hertfordshire and The University of Warwick, exploring interdisciplinarity in areas of health, families, relationships, communities and employment in international and intersectional perspectives.
Isabel's research sits in the broad field of intersectionality and family studies: understanding how social (in)equalities shapes the way people and families create social relations, the way they disrupt, challenge and navigate those social relations in everyday life. Her research interests and experience cover three main areas: family life and socioeconomic change; health, food and wellbeing; creative methods and feminist practice. Isabel's most recent research project at the University of Chester, examines the way in which food creates relationships and wellbeing in society (see here). She has extensive interdisciplinary experience of working in international health research, and collaborating with diverse NGO's, charities and communities's organisations to inform social policy and create positive impact in society. Her research has been funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, OXFAM, United Nations, UN Women, BSA, CONICYT, University of Manchester and RKEI Culture & Society.
