BIOGRAPHY
I am a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing with a multidisciplinary background in biosciences, mental health nursing, social care and public health. My work focuses on health agency and health communication, particularly among people of African descent and migrant communities.
My research explores how people access, interpret, trust, question and use health information in contexts shaped by culture, migration, misinformation, digital exclusion, stigma and health inequalities. I am especially interested in digital health literacy and cultural humility as routes to strengthening health agency, confidence, trust and safe decision-making.
I welcome collaboration and research supervision enquiries in areas including health agency, digital health literacy, health communication, cultural humility, mental health nursing education, health inequalities, African migrant health, misinformation, community engagement and applied public health research.
