His leadership has made his division one of the vibrant and visible within the University community. With over 20 years of teaching experience in higher education, he has made significant contributions in learning and teaching through programme development, quality assurance and postgraduate research delivery. His outstanding work has been recognised by all the institutions he has been an employee. It is important to note that he is a recipient of several awards such as Outstanding Teacher Fellowship Award, Professional Mentor of the Year, Excellence in Teaching Award and Most Inspirational Lecturer of the Year. David has lead the team to design programmes which addresses contemporary skills needs within Banking, Accounting, Finance and Analytics.

As a human geographer with experience in urban planning, Dami's main interests lie in creating better urban spaces and addressing issues such as urbanisation, globalisation, and climate change. Professor Al-Assaf graduated in 1988 with a first class degree in Chemistry (Mosul University). He gained his MSc (1994) and PhD (1997) from Salford University in the field of radiation and solution properties of hyaluronan and cross linked form (Hylan). Subsequently he took up a postdoctoral research fellowship at Glyndwr University Wrexham (formally North East Wales Institute of Higher Education, NEWI) working on the characterisation and modification of hydrocolloids. In 2003 he became Director of the Phillips Hydrocolloids Research Centre at Glyndwr University and was promoted to a Reader in Chemistry in 2007, and was awarded a personal chair in 2012. He moved to Chester University in August 2015 to lead the Hydrocolloid Research Centre at the Institute of Food Science & Innovation. Professor Al-Assaf has secured research funding from various organisations and industry and has published over 100 papers.

Hanaan joined Chester Medical School as a Lecturer in Haematology and Biomedical Science, bringing over 14 years of experience in working in Haematology and Blood Transfusion NHS laboratory. Over the years, her work focused on the use of Immunophenotyping by Flow Cytometry for the diagnosis of Haematological malignancies where she worked as a Senior Biomedical Scientist for 5 years leading the Flow Cytometry Service, the only one in North Wales. She also has a 7 years experience working in North Wales Stem cell Service carrying out Peripheral Blood Haemopoetic Stem cells transplant Harvests and Reinfusions where she worked in positions of PD and DI within the HTA.

Kurt holds a personal Chair in Enterprise, and is Executive Dean for the Faculty of Science Business and Enterprise. Kurt is also University Pro Vice-Chancellor for Enterprise, and is responsible for business engagement and commercialisation activities as well as general executive duties across the Faculty's teaching, research and enterprise activities. His business engagement portfolio is extensive, having worked with over 5,000 SMEs as part of European Structural Investment Fund initiatives. Total grant activities amount to £22M, and have included some of the largest business support programmes in Europe (HEI to SME). In addition to this, he has worked on £6.7M of grant funding associated with regional enterprise, incubation, and Information Society initiatives. Funders have included ERDF, ESF, EPSRC, HEFCE, ESRC and STFC amongst others.

Recently he was Chair and Director of the Universities Economic Development Unit, a partnership between 7 of the NW's universities. He is a member of the Mersey Dee Alliance, A cross-border partnership that supports strategic economic growth across North East Wales, West Cheshire and the Wirral. He sat on the Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership Skills Board, and was Board lead for the Accelerate Project, a £6M CoVid recovery project that supported management skills, resilience and digital upskilling. Kurt is the University's lead on its collaboration with the region's Institute of Technology - a partnership with 4 colleges and 2 HEIs.

Prior to his current role, Kurt was Director of Keele Business School, and significantly involved in its redevelopment as part of a University Enterprise Zone initiative, and previously he was Associate Dean Enterprise, Engagement and Employability at the University of Salford. During this time the School won the coveted Times Higher Education Awards 2014 Business School of the Year award for a step change in its business engagement and graduate employability profile. Prior to this he spent much of his career at the University of Manchester and the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in the field of science enterprise.

Mohammed Amali is a Senior Lecturer, and the BSc Pharmacology Programme lead at the Chester Medical School. Mohammed is a pharmacist with a background in pharmacology including teaching and research experience in immunology and toxicology. Mohammed offers an eighteen-year background of supporting students, developing instructional plans, and organizing and assessing students. His research interests include drug allergy but has focused more recently on the development of drugs from natural products, with the aim of discovering novel molecules of therapeutic benefit that will contribute to current patient management strategies.

Gina Ankers contributes to the University's Research and Knowledge Exchange Strategy key aim to significantly increase research grant and contract income, by facilitating the development of research grant applications, consultancy, Continued Professional Development (CPD) and contract work.
Gina acts as a key point of contact for staff seeking external funding and provides expert advice on project planning to ensure the final project meets the requirements of the funding agency within the required timescales.

Gina makes collaborative decisions with Finance to prepare proposals for external grants and contracts according to Full Economic Costs (FEC) and to adopt an appropriate cost for the work being undertaken.

Gina specialises in Commonwealth Scholarships. This involves:- facilitating bids with a short turnaround period for Masters and PhD schemes; being part of the selection process; liaising with the scholars, various University departments and external organisations to ensure a smooth transition and stay at the University for the scholars as well as co-ordinating invoices, payments, reports and questionnaires.

As a qualified teacher, with nearly 20 years experience in the classroom, Sarah moved to the University of Chester as a Senior Lecturer in Primary Mathematics in 2015. Sarah has since gone on to Programme Lead the PGCE Primary route, and is now Deputy Head of Initial Teacher Education at the University of Chester. Sarah works with the Head of Initial Teacher Education and other colleagues in the School of Education to ensure our programmes that lead to qualified teacher status are compliant and reflect the changing needs of our dynamic education sector. With a rich academic career spanning two decades across India, Ireland, and the UK, Dr. Samar Ansari is a seasoned educator and researcher of international renown. His mentorship has been instrumental in guiding two PhD students to successful completion and supervising numerous Masters dissertations (around 40) and undergraduate projects (around 30), fostering a generation of scholars. Kimberly Anstey is senior lecturer teaching on the Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MA TESOL) course and in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) in the Centre for Student Exchange & Language Development, Faculty of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, the University of Chester, UK. She is the leader of the In-sessional Academic English provision (ISE) for the international students at the university. Ann-Marie is a Senior Lecturer in the Initial Teacher Education (ITE) department within the School of Education. She is also a member of the Mentor Development Team and Mentoring and Coaching in Education (MACIE) Research Group. She is a specialist in music education.

Ann-Marie has over 15 years experience working in education. Her work has been primarily focused on music teaching and learning at secondary school level; she also has experience in primary and early years education, including leading Forest School provision. Ann-Marie is passionate about wanting all children to enjoy to a rich, inspiring education and in her belief that school teachers must be well-supported to facilitate this.

Vivian is a lecturer with the Accounting and Finance Division at University of Chester. She is currently the Course leader for Finance with Banking (BSc) and Banking and Finance (BSc) and saddled with the responsibility for its incremental value proposition and visibility. Nicola joined the University in 2006; as Head of Funding and KE Development she is responsible for leadership relating to Research and Knowledge Exchange funding and the development of Knowledge Exchange (KE) activities. This includes budgetary responsibility for the work of the department, leading the strategic development of KE capabilities (including leading on preparation of the submissions for Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF), Higher Education, Business and Community Interaction (HE-BCI) Survey, Knowledge Exchange Concordat (KEC) and, alongside the External Funding Team Leader, for grant and contract income to award holders within the University and at relevant partner organisations. Nicola also works closely with colleagues in relation to the management, distribution and monitoring of Research England funding and internal Research and Knowledge Exchange budgets.

As part of her current priorities, Nicola leads on the activities relating to Workstream 3 of the University’s Research and Knowledge Exchange Strategy that addresses Knowledge Exchange and contributes to the monitoring of Performance Indicator(s). This includes performance in the KEF and the University's emerging Public Engagement strategy.

Dr Emma Arya-Manesh is one of the Co-directors of the Centre for Research into Education, Creativity and Arts through Practice (RECAP) and a Senior Researcher in the School of Education. She has undertaken research and evaluations across diverse settings, including art galleries, cultural and arts-based organisations, children’s centres, youth groups, universities, and schools.

Dr Arya-Manesh has secured external funding from local authorities, charities, and (inter)national learned societies. She is also an experienced editor, holding the position of Editorial Manager for the International Journal of Art & Design Education (iJADE). Separately, Dr Arya-Manesh is an Associate Editor for COMPARE: A Journal of Comparative and International Education.
