TEACHING INTERESTS

Modules Taught:

Essential Methods for the Biotechnologist: Core lab techniques including microbial and mammalian cell culture, recombinant DNA technology, protein analysis, and gene expression studies, alongside applied statistics.

From Genes to Biological Systems: Gene regulation in development, use of vertebrate and eukaryotic model organisms, and understanding complex microbial communities.

Applied Biotechnology: Genetically modified organisms, gene editing technologies (CRISPR, TALENs, Zinc fingers), personalised medicine, and biotech applications in health, industry, and the environment.

Emerging Molecular Therapies in Medicine: Personalised and targeted therapies, advanced gene therapy approaches, non-coding RNA and oligonucleotide therapeutics, nanomedicine for drug delivery, molecular immunotherapy, and cancer treatment strategies.

Research Dissertation: Supervision and support of independent student-led research projects.
